Annual
Summer School on Business Mediation - ISBM 2012 Admont, Austria (www.isbm.at) |

An American in Admont: Lessons Learned
While Admiring the Austrian Alps, by Patricia Prince There could have
been no better setting in which to explore the vast expanse of Past, Present
and Future—this year’s theme at the International Summer School on Business
Mediation—than in the quaint town of Admont, surrounded by verdant valleys
and the inspiring peaks of the Austrian Alps. The result was a
heightened awareness and an awakening to new discoveries. The genius of
the week-long Admont Conference is the confluence of the somatic approach,
intellectually stimulating content and a relatively small group (100
attendees) of business professionals and mediators from all over the world
with whom to discuss ideas and experiences. What better way to begin to
identify and challenge our own assumptions and conclusions in order to
broaden our thinking? Of even greater import were the relationships
developed during the week with other trainers, facilitators and participants,
which will continue and amplify the discussions begun during the Admont
Conference. In this way, the Admont Conference is enriching beyond
measure to both the participants and the field of conflict resolution in
general. I wish to thank the Rockrose Institute for its generous scholarship
to attend the Admont International Summer School on Business Mediation.
